Eligibility Requirements
All male descendants, including adopted sons and stepsons of members of The American Legion, as well as male descendants of veterans who died in service between April 6, 1917, and November 11, 1918, or anytime from December 7, 1941, to the present, are eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion. This includes those who served honorably, as outlined in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of The American Legion, or who died after their honorable discharge.
This eligibility extends to fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, and great grandfathers and grandmothers, emphasizing our commitment to veteran support and recognizing American Legion descendants.
